WHAT IS FORUM THEATRE?
The forum theater is an interactive theater technique that invites the public to develop and express their own ideas to solve the conflicts that are proposed in the scene. The particularity of the Forum Theater is that it eliminates the "fourth wall" that divides the scene audience, thus transforming the passive spectator into the spectator as an active subject of the show in an attempt to overcome the barriers between the communicator and the person receiving the message. From this perspective, the role of the public is fundamental: he is invited to participate actively in the scenic event, transforming it with his own ideas and proposals. Once, twice, ten times protagonists and antagonists, actors and the public together look for alternatives to the inevitable initial conflict
In terms of content, the Forum Theater show centers on the conflicts experienced by a human being, both as an individual and as part of a community. The result is encouraging and provoking dialogue, promoting communication even in the most problematic contexts.
Through both form and content, the Forum Theater method combines artistic expression with social participation, civic involvement and political activism that every citizen is responsible for.
